Glanford Power Station

Glanford Power Station: Located on the Flixborough Industrial Estate, near Scunthorpe, in North Lincolnshire is the Glanford Power Station it is said to be an electricity generation plant. It generates around 13.5 MW which is enough to provide power to 32,000 homes. It was to operate on 1993 and was designed to be powered by poultry litter and it was the second of its kind ever built in the world. It is owned by Energy Power Resources which is said as EPR and operated by its subsidiary Fibrogen. Later the crisis of the BSE millions of cattle was slaughtered, and almost half a million tones of dried meat and bone meal were stockpiled in secure sheds. The further re start was on the 2000 on the month of May to burn them. It charges a gate fee for the fuel it burns, which would have otherwise been disposed of using conventional landfills.
